Mr. Frank Marchese Jr.
Artist, Teacher and Humanitarian

The gallery is named for Mr. Frank Marchese Jr. who inspired many people during his short time on earth. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, a graphic artist, the beloved father of two children and a teacher at the combined Pius X-St. Matthias campus. His art work reflected his concern for people and he also reached out to others through his deeds. He was the mentor of many young people both as a leader of a youth group and as a teacher. His memory lives through the art gallery.

Joann Pinal wanted to create a student art gallery as her senior project. She wrote a proposal to the administration requesting to transform three connected unused offices into a gallery. She convinced her friends and her mother to help her clean and paint the sadly neglected rooms. Within weeks, the dingy walls glowed with white paint. Art students from every class displayed their works at the grand opening on June 6,1999

Frank Marchese Jr. created the above painting. The viewer must determine the meaning. What images do you see? What is your interpretation of the piece?
